Programs

Every child is a precious gift from God, uniquely created, deeply loved, and full of potential. At Calvary Academy Childcare & Preschool, we see each stage of growth as a sacred opportunity to nurture that God-given wonder. From the peaceful rhythm of our Infant room to the joyful discovery of our Pre-K classrooms, our teachers create spaces where faith and learning walk hand in hand.

Here, children are surrounded by love and encouraged to explore the world through the lens of God’s Word. Play, curiosity, and creativity are not just encouraged, they are celebrated as the ways children come to know themselves, others, and their Creator.

Each classroom builds on the one before it, allowing children to grow in confidence, character, and connection. By the time they leave our program, they have not only gained strong academic foundations, they have also begun to develop a lifelong relationship with Jesus and a joyful love for learning that reflects His light.

In our Infant program (typically infants up to ~12 months), we create a secure, loving environment where your baby is embraced each day with care, responsiveness, and gentle routines. Our caregivers build warm, consistent relationships with each infant, responding to their needs, helping them settle, sleep, eat and explore in safe, cozy spaces. Even at this early stage, we invite wonder — gentle music, discovery of movement, soft textures, and the beginnings of language and social connection. We partner with families to coordinate care and schedule in a way that supports home routines and promotes healthy development.

The Toddler stage (approximately 12-24 months) is one of amazing discovery and growing independence. Here we support children as they explore mobility, begin to use words and gestures, and test the world around them. In this program, children are given opportunities for movement, sensory play, social interaction, and guided routines that help build confidence, emerging self-help skills (like hand-washing, picking up toys) and a growing sense of belonging in community. Faith moments are introduced in simple, developmentally appropriate ways (through songs, stories, and gentle conversation) to help toddlers sense that they are cared for by God and others.

Our Twos program (children around two years old) continues the emphasis on discovery, language growth, social connection, and early early-school-readiness skills — but in a more structured setting than toddlers. Children begin to participate in small-group activities, explore more deliberate play experiences (blocks, art, simple science/discovery), and are guided toward positive interactions with peers and adults. We value routines and consistency at this age, which help children feel safe and confident. We also begin to weave in more perceptible transitions, simple faith-based conversation, and opportunities for problem-solving, creativity and cooperative play. The Twos classroom is a springboard toward preschool, helping children grow socially, emotionally and cognitively in a holistic way.

Our Preschool program (typically ages 3-4) is a joyful, exploratory environment where children are guided toward recognizing themselves as learners, friends, and creators. In this stage children deepen their language skills, explore early literacy and numeracy concepts, engage in thematic units and project-based activities, and cultivate self-regulation, social-skills, and independence. We integrate faith naturally through bible-stories, reflection on character, experiential learning about God’s world and how they fit into it. Our experienced teachers scaffold children’s learning to encourage curiosity, confidence and compassion. Children begin to think about “school” in a richer sense — readying for the next step ahead.

In our PreK program (typically age 4 turning 5), we prepare children for a smooth transition into kindergarten while continuing to value whole-child growth and faith-growth. PreK students engage in more intentional literacy and math foundations (letter and number recognition, pre-writing, problem‐solving, early scientific inquiry), collaborate on larger projects, engage in guided group discussions, refine fine motor and gross motor skills, and strengthen their social and emotional competence (cooperation, conversation, self-advocacy). At the same time, we continue to foster joy, wonder and friendship, and our faith integration deepens with more structured reflections, community service or mission-minded activities age-appropriate for young children. Our goal is that your child moves to kindergarten not only academically ready, but socially, emotionally and spiritually confident.
